Long before Peta's paint brush turned into a series of "Stray Dogs of Nicaragua", there were
"Goats and Monkeys of India", "Bulls of Ometepe" and more generally speaking a long history
of adopting (or being adopted by) stray dogs and cats. Nicaragua is a particularly harsh
environment for animals as there is a pervasive view of animals as "working animals" and
notably poor treatment of these animals. In order to have some positive impact on the animal
population in Granada, Peta volunteers at the Casa Lupita Clinic for animals.
